Your Body Isn’t "Old" It’s Just Out of Level

We’ve all said it: “Oh, it’s just my age,” or “I’m just getting creaky.” We book a relaxation massage, feel lovely for an hour, but then the pain crawls back a few days later.
I love a relaxing massage as much as anyone, but if you’re struggling with a recurring injury, you deserve a result that lasts. Lately, my clients have been calling me a “Body Whisperer.” It’s a label I love because it describes exactly what I do I listen to the story your muscles and posture are trying to tell.
The Spirit Level: Your Internal Compass
Think of a builder’s tool a spirit level. You know that little bubble in the middle? Your body has its own internal version of that. Every second of the day, your brain is trying to keep your "bubble" centered so you can walk and move without falling over.
But life leaves its mark.
That broken ankle from ten years ago?
That broken arm when you fell out of a tree as a kid?
That 8-hour-a-day desk job where your lower back is working overtime just to "hold" your arms up while you type?

loving yourself
Your body is a magnificent machine. To keep you upright, it "snags" your fascia (the connective tissue suit under your skin) to protect those old injuries. You stop limping, but the snag stays. Years later, that snag pulls on your hip, which pulls on your back, and suddenly you're dealing with Sciatica or Plantar Fasciitis.
You’re feeling the pain in your heel or your back, but the "fire" actually started years ago in your ankle.
The Russian Doll Effect: Unwinding the Layers
I look at my clients like a set of Russian Dolls. When you come to see me, I’m taking off the "lid" to look at what’s happening underneath.
This is why one treatment is rarely a magic wand. We aren't just dealing with today's ache; we are unwinding layers of history.
The Outer Doll: The "shouting" pain that brought you through my door.
The Middle Doll: The compensations (how you’ve been leaning or hunching to cope).
The Tiny Doll at the Center: The original injury or habit that started the whole mess.
As we work through these layers using Myofascial Release, you’ll feel the Ripple Effect. I might be working on your hip, and you’ll suddenly feel a tingle in your toes, or a release in your hands. You might even feel what I call "the bubble wrap"—that satisfying crinkle and release as the tissue finally breathes again.
I Practice What I Preach
I don’t just talk the talk. I’m a slow jogger/walking and I spend time at my desk just like you. My hips get tight and my "spirit level" gets wonky. I regularly book myself in with another Myofascial Release practitioner to work on my hips. I know that area is sensitive, and I know I need that specific "unwinding" to keep me performing at my best. I have to look after me so I can look after you!
You Are Always in Control
Sometimes, I’ll hit a tiny, stubborn trigger point and it feels sharp almost like a little pin. No pins here! That’s just your body finally pointing to the exact "snag" that’s been throwing your balance off. You are always in control of the pressure. We don't force the body; we persuade it to let go.
Let’s stop just "managing" the pain and start finding the cause.
I have a few slots open this week in the studio. Let’s take off the lid, look at the layers, and get your body back on the level.
